Candle Care

To keep your candles looking their best, lasting longer & maintaining their strong scent, try these handy tips.

  • When your candle isn't in use, replace its lid. This will help to preserve the wax quality and fragrance strength.

  • Trim the wick to roughly 6mm before igniting. This will result in a more even burn, a cleaner and brighter flame, and less soot forming while your candle is in use.

  • If your candle has a double wick, be sure to light both wicks or expect to see an irregular melt pool to form.

  • We know you love your candles.. but when there's less than 1-2cm of wax in the bottom.. it's time to move on. Don't forget to clean your beautiful jars and use them for something else!

  • Each time you use your candle, allow the wax to form a full melt pool (wax melting all the way to the edge). This is even more important on your candles first burn. Why do this? Believe it or not, candles have a memory... and if your first burn isn't long enough to form the 'full melt pool', you may be setting yourself up for a candle that forms a tunnelling appearance down the middle. Not only will the life of your candle be shorter, but it's fragrance strength will also be reduced. Now show your candle some love and give it a good burn!

  • Don't burn your candle for less than 1 hour or more than 4 hours. We understand you love your candle, but after 3-4 hours, carbon will collect on the wick, and it will start looking like a undesirable mushroom. This not only looks unpleasant, but can cause the wick to become unstable, the flame to get too large, your candle to smoke, and not to mention soot to be released into the air and around your candle jar. Lucky our candles are made from 100% natural ingredients so there are no toxins released.. however it will still leave your candle looking sad.

Candle Safety

Please ensure you always follow these safety precautions when using candles.

  • Never cover candles with anything while in use.

  • Never burn your candle unattended.

  • Extinguish all candles when leaving a room or before going to sleep.

  • Place candles on a flat and sturdy surface at all times.

  • Avoid positioning your candle in windy areas including fans, air conditioners, and open windows.

  • Do not touch the open flame.

  • When extinguishing flame, do not use water or replace lid.

  • If you haven't noticed, candles are flammable. Keep away from flammable materials, children and pets.

  • As candle jars can become hot, never attempt to touch or move a burning candle.
